1.1 Features
1.1.1 Capping Gripper & Method: Servo Capping
The capping head employs a stable three-jaw design for reliable cap gripping. The contact surfaces are fitted with abrasion-resistant polyurethane strips to effectively prevent cosmetic damage to caps during tightening. Each head is powered by its own servo motor, which provides precise digital torque control and the ability to rotate in both directions. The gripper head itself features a quick-change design for rapid production line changeovers and is constructed from hard-anodized aluminum alloy for durability.

1.1.2 Capping Torque Control
Each capping head is independently and smoothly controlled by its own servo motor. Operating in a closed-loop control mode, it ensures precise capping torque management. The torque setpoints can be configured and stored via the touchscreen HMI. The system provides accurate position control, allowing for precise setting of the rotation's start position, end position, and angle. It delivers a high and consistent breakout torque, which remains unaffected by the main conveyor speed or the capping head's own rotational velocity. The servo motor enables both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation. This is particularly beneficial for packaging materials with high cosmetic requirements, as it allows for a controlled process that guarantees damage-free sealing and preserves product aesthetics. Furthermore, the torque is fully adjustable and is displayed in real-time on the touchscreen, which also logs the actual torque values for traceability.

1.1.3 Screw Conveyor Bottle Feeding
The feed screw is precision-engineered with a custom profile to guide bottles accurately and rapidly into the system. Its gentle action ensures smooth handling, effectively protecting bottles from damage.

1.1.4 Bottle Gripping Mechanism
To prevent round bottles from slipping during the capping process, a belt-tightening method is employed for gripping. Two cylinders, positioned on either side, act on the belts to apply uniform clamping force evenly across the bottle body. Simultaneously, at the corresponding station, the mold plate is fitted with a groove embedded with silicone rubber for added grip and protection.

1.1.5 Defect Detection and Rejection
For routine defect detection (such as high caps and tilted caps), the primary methods are photoelectric and slot sensors. Photoelectric sensors detect the presence of the cap, while slot sensors identify tilting. A slot sensor requires a gap greater than 3mm to detect a tilted cap, and this method inherently has a certain rate of missed detections.

1.1.6 Reject Mechanism
Automatic Rejection of Missing Caps, High Caps, and Missing Foil:
The outlet side features a dual-conveyor design equipped with an intelligent inspection system. Conforming bottles proceed normally, while non-conforming products are automatically diverted to the parallel conveyor via a swinging cylinder. The system is designed to automatically pause if a bottle jam occurs downstream of the capping machine, resuming automatic operation once the jam is cleared. Furthermore, the reasons for rejection-such as missing inner plug, missing outer cap, or insufficient torque-are recorded on the HMI (Human-Machine Interface) for each rejected product, providing traceable data for quality control.
